The Life of a Model

Sure we would all love to have the life of a model traveling around the world, getting your picture taken in exotic locations. I don't think everyone understands that this is work also. Hours of make up and getting pinned into clothing might not sound like hard work but until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Photo shoots can become really long and lighting and timing don't always work out. You could have to do the whole thing over again the next day. Not to mention being in the public eye constantly. I don't think just anyone could live this lifestyle. So don't think models have it easy until you actually have that lifestyle then if you want to say it is easy go ahead.

Labor Day not time off for the Artists

Traditionally Labor Day is a day off of work for most Americans. However if you are in the entertainment field you probably have to work today. Few performers have made such an impact in such a short time as Jim Morrison. He had a special give that by his own means was cut way to short. I wish that he might have lived in this day and age. What he could have done with today's technology might have baffled our minds. Jim Morrison wrote the words on the edge and lived his life on the edge. The only problem is it is easy to fall off the edge. Long live the Lizard King.

Hey ladies and gentlemen get ready Z Talent Show is getting ready to switch things up so be ready for some new and improved things coming soon.

Not Forgotten

Need less to say their was a lot of crap music that came out fo the 80's but there was also some great music that didn't fit the bill of pop. Acts such as Billy Idol, U2, INXS, broke through the boundries of the big hair and the preppy clothes. One such band was THE LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH. The lead singer Stiv Bators has long since passed away the typical sex, drugs, and rock and roll way. How ever their music transends the generations and can really play to the gothic kids of today. Their songs were on the edge of pop but never crossed that line keeping them in a class of their own. Check out the video clip from youtube and maybe you will have some new music to add to your ipod.

Everyone wants to be part of the band. Now everyone can't be the lead singers and believe me some of the lead singers don't need to be lead singers. The important thing to know is your place in the band. There are so many jobs to be done you just have to find the one that works for you and you are skilled to do. You know someone needs to set up the lights and tear down the stage. No matter what job you do you can always say "I'm with the Band"

Great songs at least back then...

Have you ever noticed that some of the songs you thought were great are somehow not as great when you listen to them, now. If you were alive in the 80's I am sure you have had this happen to you more then once. Check out one of my favoirtes from the 80's and a one hit wonder at that.

It is unfair for women singers to wear lingerie!

I don't really feel this way but I do think it is a great tacktic on their part. If you sexy use it to your advantage especially in the entertainment field. Some say that the pussycat dolls don't have much talent. That might be true but their bank accounts sure show otherwise.

Really skinny models..l. Yuck for me!

I don't want to see this

I must say I am glad we are getting away from the supper skinny models. I have never found them attractive nor do I think they should be models. They represent a dangerous outlook for our young women in society. Our male models always look healthy and muscular and yet some of our female models look sick and deprived. Does this make any sense? I want to fantasise about a sexy healthy women not someone I think I am going to crush if I give them a hug. I don't want someone wearing a two thousand dollar dress that looks like they just found them on a deserted island that had no food. To me sexy is being healthy, I would rather see someone a little overweight modeling. Well that is my opinion and I would love to hear the opinion of others so drop me a line.

Don't Drink and Sing

This post if for all you out their that think drinking make you sing better. Yes a little alcohol might make you less timid but to much turns you into a slobbering word forgetting singer. So take my advice, when singing use the same rules you use when driving. If you have had to much let someone else sing.

MY WAY - Thanks Sid!!!

Several artists have crossed the line and brought about great changes in music as well as our attitudes. The Beatles, Elvis, Nirvana, and even the Tupac Shakur. However, the one I think caused the most stir and almost single hand brought punk rock close to main stream was Sid Vicious. His talent wasn't great and his singing lacked so much that he wasn't even the lead man in the Sex Pistols. However his character and this take charge attitude came through on the song MY WAY. I have attached the video click for those of you who might have never seen Sid Vicious perform. The star that he build was short lived as so often happens with people are not ready to become this famous. However the testament to his legend lives on as I still see young people wearing SID VICIOUS shirts and listening to the music. I really hate that Sid Vicious was the face of Punk Rock because so many other great bands and artist came out of that genre. Watch the clip and then do some research into other great punk bands. The Sex Pistols were the main band but so many others such as The Dead Kennedys, The Meat Puppets, Generation X, make awesome music. Well enjoy the clip and do some slam dancing if you like.

We here a Z Talent Show have a great sense of humor. We understand that models are very intelligent people. However, you cannot help but laugh at the movie Zoolander. Ben Stiller is great as Derick Zoolander and Owen Wilson adds much to the movie. We all hear the jokes about models and know that they are not true. I don't like to preach but there is something I feel very passionate about. I think it could help anyone in the performing field. The Secret is a wonderful way of bringing things to you. Some of you might have heard about it call "The Law of Attraction" The wonderful thing about this is that it shows you that you bring everything to you. If you life is not going in the direction you want it to, then you need to change your thinking. The universe will give you what you want all you have to do is ask for it and believe. I understand you might be a little sceptical but do me this favor then next time you rent a movie, go rent The Secret. The messages are good and you will see how many of the pioneers in their field used the secret to get where they needed to be. Okay I have now done my duty in telling about the secret, the power is now in your hands, use it wisely.

Just wanted to let anyone out there that loves music, you have to listen to The Ramones. One of the best groups ever and they stood the test of time. I cannot count how many albums they are out and they just kept getting better with age. I could use some Help!!

Anyone out there with some experience with SDK or C/C+++ coding and would like to help set up some applications for Z Talent Show. I am learning as we speak but could use some insight to the coding part. Currently I am reading the basic books and all they are telling me is how to make buttons and silly applications, not much meat and potatoes in the teaching. So if anyone out there can help let me know.
